Netting the best for your enhanced home.

Mother wants to swim in the pool, and I am sure wants to meet older folks as she has no social life. She believes she is influencing me to move in a 55 & community. She keeps saying she doesn’t want to influence me, and when I told her that wasn’t quite true, she said she was doing her best to do just that.
I am 55, and have my home on the market. The community and move might be a good change, but I don’t know. It is also 17 hours away from my location now.
I lost my spouse , and Mother is divorced living in a very small place.
The 17 hours is that I live in the north and she lives in the south where I would be moving to if I went. My house is for sale.

There is nothing wrong with your mother enhancing her social life. Obviously she is still "alive and kicking" Nothing wrong with you being social as well. What does it being 17 hours from where you are now have to do with anything?
